Sixth int’l book fair to introduce 40,000 book titles

The 2017 International Book Fair Vietnam will be held in Thong Nhat Park in Hanoi from August 23-27 with more than 80 booths showing 40,000 books titles from various domestic and seven foreign firms.

Hanoi (VNA)– The 2017 International Book Fair Vietnam will be held in Thong Nhat Park inHanoi from August 23-27 with more than 80 booths showing 40,000 books titlesfrom various domestic and seven foreign firms.

The event is anactivity to mark the APEC Year Vietnam 2017, Vietnam’s 40-year membership of theUnited Nations and 10 years of joining the World Trade Organisation, as well asthe 65th anniversary of the domestic publishing sector.

This is a chance forbook publishers and distributors to meet and exchange experience, whileintroducing new publications and expanding international cooperation inpublishing.

Different spaces willbe designed to introduce books in different topics, including books on sea andislands, integrity and sovereignty, ASEAN, translated books, e-books, and prize-winningbooks.

At the same time, morethan 20 events will also be held, such as meetings with authors and seminars toshare experience in publishing.

The organization boardwill also give a separate space for transactions in copyright.

According to Directorof the Department of Publishing, Printing and Issuing under the Ministry of Informationand Communications Chu Van Hoa, previous events drew large numbers of visitors andcontributed to encouraging the reading habit in the community.-VNA
