Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has agreed to providefood aid for six provinces on the occasion of the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival.
The six provinces namely Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Binh Dinh, Quang Binh, Binh Phuocand Lang Son were agreed to get rice relief from the national reserve, the VietnamGovernment Portal (VGP) reported.
Gia Lai will receive over 1.09 million tonnes of rice, Dak Lak 834.24 tonnes;Binh Dinh province 1,500 tonnes; Quang Binh 802.875 tonnes; Binh Phuoc 408.480tonnes; Lang Son 244.710 tonnes.
The People’s Committees of the aforesaid provinces were asked to get the foodaid and allocate to accurate beneficiaries.
Earlier, residents in four other provinces including Ha Giang, Nghe An, NinhThuan, and Cao Bang were give food aid prior to Tet holidays./.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has decided to provide 2,000 tonnes of rice from the national reserve as food aid to residents in the central provinces of Quang Binh and Ha Tinh who suffered from serious flooding.
Over 110,700 tonnes of rice worth more than 1 trillion VND from the national reserve have been allocated to localities to support people after natural disasters, ahead of the upcoming Lunar New Year festival and in forest plantation projects, and students living in especially disadvantaged areas, since the beginning of this year.
Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue has approved the granting of rice from the national reserves to Cao Bang and Binh Dinh provinces to help needy people and those who were affected by storms and flooding.
