'Single-Stop' procedure at Lao Bao–Densavan border gate halted
Effective from the date of signing on June 18, the decision halts procedures outlined in the 2005 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the governments of Vietnam and Laos on the initial implementation of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Cross-Border Transport Facilitation Agreement at the Lao Bao–Densavan border gate.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Government has just issued Resolution No. 180/NQ-CP to suspend the implementation of the single-win🍷dow, single-stop inspection procedure at the Lao Bao (Vietnam) – Densavan (Laos) international bordℱer gate pair.
Effective from the date of signing on June 18, the decision halts procedures outlined in the 2005 Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the governments of Vietnam and Laos on the initial implementation of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) Cross-Border Transport Facilitation Agreement at the Lao Bao–Densavan border gate.
The Ministry of Construction has been tasked with leading efforts, in coordination with the relevant ministries and agencies, to amend the 2005 MoU in accordance with the 2016 Law on International Treaties and related GMS frameworks.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will work with the Lao side and relevant partners within the framework of the GMS agreement to carry out necessary diplomatic procedures regarding the suspension.
The Quang Tri provincial People's Committee will coordinate with national ministries and Laos’ Savannakhet province to implement border checks in line with the 2016 Vietnam-Laos Agreement on Border and Border Gate Management while legal adjustments to the 2005 MoU are underway.
Relevant ministers, agency heads, and the Chairman of the Quang Tri People’s Committee are responsible for enforcing the resolution./.
