Singapore’s COVID-19 cases surpass 10,000

The number of COVID-19 cases in Singapore has exceeded 10,000, with 1,016 new cases reported as of noon on April 22, according to the local health ministry.

Hanoi (VNA) -
The number of COVID-19 cases in Singapore has exceeded10,000, with 1,016 new cases reported as of noon on April 22, according to thelocal health ministry.

This is the thirdconsecutive day that the Southeast Asian country has recorded more than 1,000new cases.

More than 75 percent of thenew cases are work permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories. Only fifteen cases are Singaporeans or permanent residents.        

On April 22, theMalaysian health ministry announced 50 more COVID-19 cases and one death.

To date, the country hasreported 5,532 cases, including 93 fatalities.

Thailand recorded 15 moreCOVID-19 cases and one death on April 22, raising the total to 2,826 and 49,respectively.

The same day, Indonesiareported 283 more infection cases, bringing the tally to 7,418.

Over the past 24 hours,the country confirmed 19 deaths from the disease. The death toll has sofar climbed to 635.

Meanwhile, the Philippinehealth ministry announced 111 new infection cases and nine deaths on April 22,bringing the tallies to 6,710 and 446, respectively.

🐠 The Lao Ministry of Health revealed thatthe country recorded no new cases over the past 24 hours, making it 10consecutive days without any new infections./.
