Singaporean brand names to be franchised in VN

A workshop to popularise Singaporean franchise businesses in Vietnam was held in Ho Chi Minh City on April 9.
A workshop to popularise Singaporeanfranchise businesses in Vietnam was held in Ho Chi Minh City on April9.

At the workshop, jointly held by the Vietcham Expo Company and theSingaporean company Astreem, Singaporean franchisers, including PastaMania, Polar Puffs, 3-Monkeys Cafe, Worldwide Wings, Kooshi, Animalandand TTQ Massage talked about their experiences in the franchise sector,which is a special type of business, with the Vietnamese participants.

According to Bui Thuc Anh, Vietcham Expo’s Director, the workshopbrought franchisers and prospective franchisees together and raised theprofile of the franchise business market in Vietnam.

The Deputy Chairman of the Singaporean Franchising and LicensingAssociation (FLA), Mr T. Chandroo, pointed out the growth potentialmarket in Vietnam and said that he hoped the workshop would help toincrease Vietnamese-Singaporean economic ties by promoting thefranchise sector.

While Hsien Naidu, the founder of Astreem, said that in the future,Astreem also plans to introduce Singaporean brand names in the educationand service sectors to Vietnam.

The organisers added that they expect Vietnam’s trade market to reachan annual growth rate of from 20-30 percent./.
