In a statement, the ministry voicedits hope that the meeting will promote prospects for peace in the KoreanPeninsula. However, it did not reveal details of preparations for the meeting. According to experts, Singapore,Southeast Asia’s financial hub, was chosen as the venue as the country isneutral in inter-Korean issues and maintains a high security level due to frequentlyhosting major world summits.
