Singapore will extend its COVID-19 restrictions for another month to curb the spread of the pandemic and reduce pressure on the health care system, the government has announced.

However, new infections keep rising to reach the highestdaily figure of 3,994 on October 19. Hospitals and medical workers are under huge pressure. More than 80 percent of the country’s population of 5.45million have been vaccinated.
