Singapore Airshow sees 32 bln USD worth of deals

The Singapore Airshow 2014 has seen deals worth 32 billion USD being signed after four trade days, slightly higher than that in the last edition in 2012.
The Singapore Airshow 2014 has seen deals worth 32 billion USD beingsigned after four trade days, slightly higher than that in the lastedition in 2012.

At a press conference onthe same day, the organisers said those with large contracts includeAirbus, Embraer, Boeing and Rolls-Royce.

Over1,000 companies from 47 countries and regions and 279 delegations from72 countries took part in the show. The feature country this year isthe US , which sent over 160 firms to the event.

There were over 40,000 trade visitors from 123 countries and regionsduring the first three trade days of the biennial event, compared to38,000 during the 2012 edition.

Sean Lee, Airbusspokesman in Asia, expressed his pleasure with the firm’s success inthe show, including its first-ever A350 XWB aircraft appearance andorders valued at over 15 billion USD.

The airshow will open for the public on February 15 and wrap up on the day after.

The next event will be held from February 16-21 at Changi Exhibition Centre.-VNA
