Seminars boost Vietnam’s tourism cooperation with major markets

A series of seminars on promoting tourism between Vietnam and major markets took place in Ho Chi Minh City on September 5, within the framework of the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City 2019.

HCM City (VNA) – A series of seminars onpromoting tourism between Vietnam and major markets took place in Ho Chi MinhCity on September 5, within the framework of the International Travel Expo HoChi Minh City 2019.

At a seminar on Vietnam – Middle East tourism cooperationpromotion, domestic and foreign experts discussed approaches to tourism marketswhile travel agencies had a chance to improve their skills and enrichknowledge.

During a similar event between Vietnam and the Republic ofKorea (RoK), participants discussed ways to enhance competitiveness and makebreakthroughs in the RoK market between now and 2020.

Vietnamese and Russian stakeholders expressed their interestin tourism products, policies and demand in the two nations.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Quang Tungsaid tourism ties between Vietnam and Russia have kept growing over the pastyears.

Statistics showed that nearly 400,000 Russian tourists arrivedin Vietnam in seven months of this year, up 6.3 percent annually.

Deputy head of the Russian Ministry of EconomicDevelopment’s Federal Tourism Agency Konyushkov Alexey said Russia always considersVietnam an important market, adding that both sides will work closely togetherin tourism and effectively tap the two countries’ advantages.

The organising board also held trade exchange activities withinthe framework of the events.-VNA
