Hanoi (VNA) – Around 100 reporters and editors from press agencies attendeda seminar on promoting foreign news services in Hanoi on October 25.
Speaking atthe event, Pham Van Linh, deputy head of the Party Central Committee'sCommission for Information and Education, hailed the contributions the pressagencies for foreign news services to the country’s external affairs.
They have reported Vietnam’s achievements of the 30-year Doi moi (Reform),international integration, and hosting of APEC 2017, as well as promptlydisseminated the guidelines and policies of the Party and State among overseasVietnamese people and the international community.
Through their works, they have helped promote the image of the country, peopleand culture of Vietnam while rejecting wrong information and distortingallegations of opportunist and hostile forces, and taking advantage of thesupport of the international community for Vietnam, he added.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has recently approved an action programme on foreign news service in 2013-2020 with the aim of maximising the capacity of foreign news service channels to serve national development.
The southern central coastal province of Phu Yen on June 27 opened training classes on foreign news services and dissemination on national seas and islands for officials at 56 coastal communes.
As of June 17, Ca Mau province had achieved its target of supporting the construction and renovation of 4,400 homes, with a total budget of over 235 billion VND (about 9 million USD).
