Second “Designed by Vietnam” contest launched

The second “Designed by Vietnam” contest was launched on July 19 with the theme “Awakening Traditions” as part of the Vietnam Design Week (VNDW) 2021.

– The second “Designed by Vietnam”contest was launched on July 19 with the theme “Awakening Traditions” as partof the Vietnam Design Week (VNDW) 2021.

Held by the Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts Studies(VICAS) under the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism, Ashui.com and ConsMedia,the contest will receive entries via email address designedbyvietnam@gmail.comuntil August 31.

Designers will vie in five categories of Communicationdesign, Living design, Decor & Object design, Clothing design, and Publicdesign.

Designs must show typical  features and traditional values of Vietnam anduse traditional and local materials. Particularly, the organisation boardencourages designers to apply and develop techniques from traditional tradevillages.

Contestants can join workshops and visit traditional tradevillages to get inspired.

Twenty outstanding designs will be chosen to join an onlinevoting at vietnamdesignweek.com from October 15 to November 15. Designsreceiving the highest number of votes will enter the final round that will takeplace from November 15-21. A award ceremony and an exhibition of works qualified for the final round are expected to be held in Hanoi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh City during the week.

A first prize worth 50 million VND (2,168 USD) in cash, aswell as one second and one third prize will be given to winners, along withfive consolidation prizes./.
