Hanoi (VNA) – The Governments ofAustralia, Malaysia and China announced on January 17 that the search formissing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 ended after almost three-year efforts.
A joint statement made it clear that the flight MH370 hadnot been found in a search area stretching 120,000 sq.km in the Indian Ocean.Regardless of all efforts, including the use of the most advanced technologyand best science available as well as modelling and advice from highly skilled experts,the search had failed to locate the plane. Therefore, the search for MH370 wasofficially ended.
The governments of the three countries emphasised that the end of thesearch, which was recommended by Malaysia at the beginning of this month, cameas no new information founded to locate the plane.
However, the nations said they remain hopeful that new information willcome to light and that at some point in the future the aircraft will belocated.
