Phnom Penh (VNA) – Cambodian Prime MinisterHun Sen has ordered Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense andChairman of the National Committee for Organising the 32nd SEA Games2023 (CAMSOC) to examine the possibility of administering the fourth COVID-19vaccine dose to athletes with Pfizer vaccine.

The Ministry of Defence’s medical corps hasbeen administering the third or booster dose to all athletes since August lastyear.

The Cambodian Health Ministry reported additional 18 imported infections relatedto the new variant Omicron on January 6, bringing the total Omicron cases in thecountry to 112.

Meanwhile, theIndonesian Government has temporarily banned the entry offoreign nationals from 14 countries in a bid to prevent the spread of the variant.

Indonesian citizens who travel fromabroad are allowed to enter Indonesian territory by following strict health protocolsset by the Government.

Indonesian citizens and foreigners whohave not been vaccinated against COVID-19 abroad, will be inoculated at aquarantine site after arriving in Indonesia. They are required to undergo a PCR test.

Also on January 6, the Thai Health Ministry raised its COVID-19 alert levelfrom level 3 to 4 following rising infections driven by the spread of Omicron.

🥃 As of the morning thesame day, Thailand recorded a total of 2,245,250 infection cases, 2,185,502 ofthem fully recovered and 21,780 died from the disease./.
