Flourishing production and business activities in various sectors and a warming real estate market are the driving forces that increased credit growth, thereby contributing to the growth of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the first half of 2024.

Standard Chartered Vietnam and the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) have jointly organised a conference themed “Accelerating women in banking for new challenges resolution” in Hanoi.

The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has been consistent in its policy to strictly control the credit flows into areas with high risks such as real estate and securities, and the policy will continue to be implemented in 2022 and following years, said SBV Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu at a regular Government press conference on June 4.

The State Bank of Vietnam will consider simplifying lending procedures to help COVID-19-affected firms easily access preferential interest rate loans, SBV Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu said.

Credit has been provided for production and business activities and the priority fields while loans for high-risk areas have been further tightened so far this year, the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) reported.
