Sailing ship 286-Le Quy Don leaves Indonesia for Brunei

Hanoi (VNA) 💯- Sailing Vessel 286-Le Quy Don of the Vietnam People’s Navy on July 20 left the Surabaya naval port of Indonesia for Brunei, successfully concluding its visit and exchange programme with the Indonesian Navy.

Head of the Vietnamese delegation, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Naval Academy Nguyen Dinh Giang thanked the Indonesian Navy for its warm welcome and effective support for the vessel during its trip to Indonesia, saying that this contributes to strengthening mutual understanding and trust between the armies and navies of the two countries. Captain Muhammed Taufik, Second-in-Command in Operation of Surabaya Naval Base, wished the Vietnamese naval delegation a smooth voyage and success in their mission.
During the four-day stay there, the Vietnamese delegation successfully completed its plan. It paid courtesy calls on the Surabaya city's authority in East Java province and the commander of the 2nd Fleet Command, Naval Base No.5 in Surabaya, the Governor of the Indonesian Naval Academy, Rear Admiral Supardi; and had a friendly sports exchange with the Indonesian Navy. The greatest achievement was that 47 outstanding cadets from the Vietnam Naval Academy gained practical training during this voyage, thereby accumulating substantial experience, Giang said.
This offfered a good chance for Vietnamese officers, soldiers, and cadets to improve their professional knowledge, combat readiness, and weapon handling skills; foster interaction with Indonesian courterparts; and explore Indonesian culture, history and people. It was the second visit of the Vietnamese vessel to Indonesia, following the first in 2019./.
