Sa Vi border information centre receives ASEAN tourism product award

Quang Ninh (VNA) - The Sa Vi BorderInformation Centre in Mong Cai city, the northern province of Quang Ninh, received the ASEAN Best Sustainable Urban Tourism Product Award at a ceremony on July 18.
Builtin 2009 and completed in October 2013, the centre in Tra Co relic site covers atotal area of 16,000 sq. m.
OnJuly 24, 2019, the Tra Co relic site was recognised by the Ministry of Culture,Sports and Tourism as a national tourist area, the first of its kind in QuangNinh and the fourth nationwide.
Withinthe framework of the 2020 ASEAN Tourism Forum held in Brunei on January16, the centre was also honoured as one of the ASEAN Best SustainableUrban and Rural Tourism Products.
𓆉 Therecognition was meant to honour and develop high-quality tourist products andservices, thus improving the efficiency of Vietnam’s tourism promotion, QuangNinh and Mong Cai’s in particular./.
In 2013, the tourism sector of northeastern coastal Quang Ninh province made a lot of new advances in all aspects. The province has made constant renovation in the organisation of tourism events and promotion activities to boost the local tourism.
Tourist arrivals to the northern province of Quang Ninh hit 6.6 million in the first five months of 2018, an increase of 26 percent from the same period last year.
More investment has been poured into Mong Cai Border Gate Economic Zone (EZ) in the northern province of Quang Ninh, which holds an important geo-political economic position.
