Hanoi (VNA) – The Republic ofKorea – Vietnam Forum for the Future, the third of its kind, took place inHanoi on November 21 in celebration of the 25th anniversary ofbilateral diplomatic ties.
Initiated by the Korea InternationalExchange Fund (KF) and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) in 2012,the forum gathered policymakers, managers, experts, scholars andrepresentatives from social organisations and press agencies to seek policysolutions to promoting the two countries’ relations for their peace, stabilityand prosperity.
As founder of the forum, Prof. Dr. NguyenXuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, urged thetwo countries to work closely together to overcome difficulties related to climatechange response, sustainable and inclusive development, and poverty reduction.
VASS Chairman Nguyen Quang Thuan said the twocountries are facing new challenges amid developments in the region and theworld, adding that the event will specify contents of the bilateral strategicpartnership in the new context.
Participants discussed ways to strengthenbilateral political and economic ties, promote socio-cultural and educationexchanges in the near future.
Recommendations at the forum will becollected and submitted to the two governments, contributing to developingbilateral ties.-VNA
