RoK firms show interest in Vietnam’s medical equipment market

Seoul (VNA) - COEX, a leadingexhibition organiser and venue of the Republic of Korea (RoK), and the VietnamAdvertisement and Fair Exhibition JSC (VIETFAIR) will co-organise the MekongMedical & Healthcare Expo 2023 in the southern province of Binh Duong inJune.

This year's edition will be the first to be held in Vietnam and feature 250 booths by 150 domestic and foreign firms, COEX said.

It is expected to help Korean businesses penetrate thehealth sector of Vietnam and other countries in the region.

COEX CEO Lee Dong-gi stressed that the Vietnamesehealth sector has posted an annual growth rate of 13.1% over the past fiveyears, with more than 90% of medical equipment and supplies imported.

The country’s total health expenditure accounts forabout 6.5% of its GDP, the highest in the Association of Southeast AsianNations (ASEAN), he said, calling Vietnam a promising market for Korean medicalequipment firms.

The organisers will prepare diverse solutions tohelp Korean companies expand its global network and explore new markets inASEAN through the exhibition, he said./.

🌳 Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.
