RoK-established firm exports 12 giant modules to UAE

Quang Ngai (VNA) – The Doosan Heavy IndustriesVietnam Co. Ltd (Doosan Vina) shipped 12 modules weighing 1,746 tonnes in totalto the Ruwais oil refinery of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 9.
The modules are part of the waste heat recoveryunit helping the refinery in Abu Dhabi to save fuel and improve efficiency.
Le Thi Dieu Linh, head of the firm’scommunications division, said among the 12 modules, the biggest is 32.75m long,over 12m wide and 27.7m high, while the smallest is 31m long, 6.5m wide and11.7m high.
They are part of the waste heat recovery projectthat Doosan Vina and Samsung Engineering Co. Ltd signed in October 2018 andalso part of a 10-year cooperation framework agreement they inked in June thesame year.
Young Sang Yoon, head of the assembly divisionof Doosan Vina, said as these modules are the first of their kind the firm hasproduced, it encountered many difficulties. However, thanks to thorough preparations,efforts by its skilled workforce and strict monitoring by Samsung Engineering,the company completed the project on schedule and met quality requirements.
Located at the Dung Quat Economic Zone in thecentral province of Quang Ngai, Doosan Vina was established in November 2006 bythe Republic of Korea-based Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction andDoosan Engineering & Construction. It specialises in manufacturing heavyindustrial equipment.-VNA
