Seoul (VNA) – Acting President ofthe Republic of Korea Hwang Kyo-ahn said he evaluates growing strategic partnershipwith Vietnam while receiving Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Vu Tu, who came topresent his credentials on April 24.

Congratulating the Vietnamese diplomat onhis assignment, Hwang said he expects for more exchanges of delegations betweenthe two countries, particularly in 2017 which marks 25 years of bilateralrelations.

He urged both nations to work closelytoward raising bilateral trade to 100 billion USD by 2020.

Ambassador Tu affirmed Vietnamese leaderslay importance to cooperation with the RoK and stressed his commitment todeepening the multifaceted ties.

He requested the Korean President and hisgovernment to continue facilitating joint projects with Vietnam in delegationexchange, trade, culture, education, people-to-people exchange.

The diplomat highlighted bilateralcooperation at international forums, particularly in organising the 2017 APECEconomic Leaders' Week and related events, and join celebration of the 25thanniversary of diplomatic ties.-VNA
