Revised Law on Medical Examination and Treatment promulgated

Hanoi(VNA) – The Presidential Office on February 3 announced the Acting President’s order to promulgate the Law on Medical Examination and Treatmentthat was adopted by the 15th National Assembly at its second extraordinarysession.
The revised law aimsto deal with shortcomings and emerging problems in medical examination andtreatment activities in a bid to develop and improve the quality of medical services towardsfairness, high efficiency, development and international integration, whilestrengthening State management over these activities.
The law comprises 12chapters and 121 articles, with many new contents, including those on theimprovement of medical practitioners’ professional quality and the servicequality of medical facilities, the increase of people’s access to health careservices, and the renovation of regulations related to conditions to ensure theimplementation of medical examination and treatment activities.
Particularly, in order to increase people’s access to medical examination andtreatment services, the law changes the organisational system of medical examinationand treatment establishments from four levels previously to three.
Under the law, private general clinics in areas with extremely difficult socio-economic conditions areallowed to arrange hospital beds for patient monitoring and treatment for amaximum of 72 hours.
At the same time, telemedicine activities will be promoted with the hope of achieving universal health coverage by improvingpatients' access to quality, cost-effective healthcare services at anytime andanywhere, especially for less serious and chronic diseases that requirelong-term and regular care./.

The 15th National Assembly (NA) continued its fourth session on October 24 – the fourth working day, with the draft revised law on medical examination and treatment among issues under consideration.
The second extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly (NA) will open on January 5, 2023, with an agenda full of many important issues, according to a conclusion of the NA Standing Committee.
Under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh and the CPV, President Cuong said, the press has been a steadfast force on the ideological and cultural front, rallying the masses to pursue national aspirations.
NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man stressed the need to accelerate the application of artificial intelligence and smart teaching equipment, innovate teaching and assessment methods, and further improve the quality of formal education.

The ministry has instructed Vietnamese representative agencies in Israel, Iran, as well as those in neighbouring countries, to closely monitor the situation and request local authorities to ensure absolute safety for Vietnamese citizens living, studying, and working in high-risk areas.
