Retired Korean teacher with deep sentiments towards Vietnam

Seoul (VNA)- Kim Jai-min, a retired teacher in theRepublic of Korea (RoK), has turned his photos on Vietnam into watercolourpaintings, which are displayed at Gallery Yeonjung in the RoK’s Incheon city.
Thephotos were taken by the retired teacher during his trips to Vietnam over thepast 30 years, capturing the beauty of the country and people in Vietnamese localitieslike My Tho, Vinh Long, Can Tho and Chau Doc (An Giang).
The exhibitiontakes place at a time when the two countries are preparing for the 30th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties (December 22, 1992-2022).
Kimtold the Vietnam News Agency (VNA)’s correspondents that he has made some 30 tripsto Vietnam since 1993, expressing his deep sentiments towards the country and people of Vietnam.
Overthe past 10 years, he has turned the photos into watercolour paintings, mainlyto present Vietnamese in the RoK, helping them to ease their homesick.
Apartfrom two books on Vietnam written by himself and published in 1994 and 2005,Kim is also the co-author of another published in 2015, helping Koreansunderstand more about Vietnam.
Healso participated in a programme organised by the RoK’s EBS TV to promote theimage of Vietnam./.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and his Republic of Korea (RoK) counterpart Chung Eui-yong had in-depth discussions on measures to advance the Vietnam-RoK strategic cooperative partnership to a new high during their talks in Seoul on February 10.

Vietnam’s cinematic appeal lies in its diverse settings, from terraced mountains and limestone karsts to bustling markets and ancient towns. Its mix of ethnic vibes, buzzing street life, and old traditions gives directors a goldmine for storytelling.
The Vietnamese team will gather on June 26 in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, where they will train until July 14 before departing for Indonesia for the ASEAN U23 Championship 2025, which runs from July 15 to 29. Vietnam will face Laos on July 19 and Cambodia on July 22 in the group stage.
The exhibition showcases more than 100 valuable documents and artifacts, divided into two main parts: “Journalist Nguyen Ai Quoc – Ho Chi Minh” and “President Ho Chi Minh – Founder and Mentor of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press.” This is an opportunity to recall the late leader’s journalism journey and affirm his exceptional role in founding and guiding the revolutionary press in Vietnam.
For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.
