Resort, college sign deal to improve training

Hanoi (VNA) - Amemorandum of understanding has been signed between the Phuc YenCollege of Industry and the Flamingo Group with the aim of enhancingthe quality of human resources in the tourism industry.

The signing ceremony tookplace in the northern province of Vinh Phuc on December 9.

Accordingly, the studentswill learn hospitality and tourism theory at the college and gain practicalexperience at resorts and restaurants owned by the Flamingo Group.

Nguyen Tien Tung, principalof the college, said the work force of the national tourism industry stilllacks professional skills and foreign language-speaking ability.

“The co-operation betweenour college and the Flamingo Group will help improve the quality of training,equip the students with specialised knowledge and give them the chance topractice in a professional working environment.”

Pham Ngo Thuy Ninh, vicechief of the Training Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, highlyappreciated the co-operation between the college and the enterprise.

“Due to the rapiddevelopment of the tourism industry, it’s necessary to increase the quantityand quality of human resources,” she said.

“There are 35 universitiesand colleges under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. They also collaboratewith enterprises to give students the chance to practice. However, this is thefirst time an enterprise co-operates tightly with a college in developingtextbooks, selecting lecturers and organising field trips for students.”-VNA
