Known as the “four pillars for Vietnam’s ascend”, the Pobiburo's Resolutions 57, 59, 66, and 68 focus on cultivating a robust national entrepreneurial spirit, unlocking resources for innovation across society, and accelerating the development of digital economy, knowledge-based economy, green economy, and circular economy, propelling Vietnam forward rapidly and firmly on the path of modernisation and international integration.

Addressing a national conference in Hanoi on May 18 on the dissemination and implementation of Resolutions 66 and 68, the leader called for joint efforts to drive Vietnam into a new era — one of development, prosperity, and strength.

The Politburo’s Resolution 57-NQ/TW holds strategic significance as Vietnam needs to innovate its growth model, and improve labour productivity and competitiveness. It identifies science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation as the main driving force for socio-economic development, helping Vietnam escape the growth model based on cheap labour and resources, said Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals in Japan Dr. Le Duc Anh.

Vietnam has set ambitious milestones, aiming to rank among the top three ASEAN countries in artificial intelligence (AI) research and development, digital competitiveness, and the e-government development index by 2030.

Vietnam has chosen a right direction by setting the goal of making science – technology development, and innovation main driving forces for socio-economic development, said Dr. Grigory Trubnikov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Science and Director of the the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) in Dubna (commonly known as Dubna Institute).

Vietnam is among the top 10 countries in terms of blockchain adoption, interest, understanding, and discussion. The application and development of blockchain technology play a crucial role in building advanced digital infrastructure, ensuring data security and reliability, and laying a foundation for developing the digital technology industry.

With specific goals aimed at changing scientific mindsets and approaches to realise policies, remove barriers and unlock abilities, Resolution 57 will contribute to creating breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation, and laying a strong foundation for the nation's robust development in the new era, Party General Secretary To Lam stated at a conference on January 13.
