The Ho Chi Minh City Women Union has set a target of helping at least 100 victims of sexual abuse and human trafficking to reintegrate into the community during the 2012-2013 period.

Theunion held a meeting in HCM City on Dec. 21 to review a project onassisting women and children who were victims of sexual abuse andtrafficking during the 2009-2011 period.
Jointlycarried out by the union and Alliance Anti Traffic (AAT), aninternational non-governmental organisation, the three-year projectprovided help to 167 women and under-14 children of whom 71 have beenable to reintegrate into the community.
The unionhas organised a wide range of activities for the victims, includingperiodical health checks, free HIV/AIDS tests, and training invocations, living skills and legal knowledge./.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
