Regular raise in public employees’ basic salary planned in July 2018

Hanoi (VNA) – The basicsalary for civil servants and public employees will increase to 1.39 millionVND (about 61 USD) from the current 1.3 million VND as from July 1, 2018.
The new basic salary, used forcalculating payrolls and allowances, will apply for public officials, publicemployees working in State agencies and civil service providers of the Party orthe Government, State-funded socio-political organisations and the armedforces.
Pensioners will also have theirmonthly payment adjusted accordingly.
The Prime Minister requiresministries, ministerial-level and Governmental agencies to save spending,streamlining their organisations and seek more sources of revenue to pay forthe salary raise.
Provinces and centrally-runcities must arrange funding for the salary raise using local budget, the regulated10-percent saving from regular spending, and other sources in line withregulation.-VNA
Governmental bodies have been asked to balance their budget estimates to generate fund for basic salary increase in 2016 according to the Prime Minister’s decision 2100/QD-TTg.
The monthly basic salary for civil servants, public employees and those working in the armed forces will be raised to 1.3 million VND (57.16 USD) from July 1.
