Vietnam condemns the attack on the residence of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Sudan, Spokeswoman of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said while answering a reporter's query on October 4.
Vietnam expressed support for justice guarantee as one of the pillars in Sudan’s transitional period, during an online meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in New York on June 10.
Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, head of the Vietnamese Permanent Mission to the United Nations, has expressed Vietnam’s wish that the governments of Sudan and South Sudan will soon address Abyei issues via peaceful means and on the ground of international law, the UN Charter, and their agreement signed on June 20, 2011.
Vietnam treasures the support given by Sudan in the past towards its national liberation, as well as the latter’s current support of the Asian nation’s process of development, said Politburo member Tran Quoc Vuong, who is also a permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on May 30 hosted a reception for newly-appointed Sudanese Ambassador to Vietnam Mohamed Elmurtada Mubarak Ismail Siraq.
President Tran Dai Quang hosted separate receptions in Hanoi on January 16 for newly-appointed ambassadors of Sudan, Peru, Zambia, Afghanistan, Namibia and Bolivia.
Vietnam and Sudan hold a lot of potential for stronger cooperation, particularly in trade, investment, agriculture, fishery, oil and gas, and telecommunications, said President Tran Dai Quang.
