Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh on November 23 held phone talks with Angola's Minister of External Relations Téte António to discuss cooperation between Vietnam and Angola, and their coordination at multilateral forums.

Ho Chi Minh City is ready to step up cooperation with Angola, especially in economy, to contribute to the bilateral friendship, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong told new Ambassador of Angola to Vietnam Agostinho Andre De Carvalho Fernandes during a reception on June 2.

Politburo member and permanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong led a high-ranking Party delegation to pay a working visit to Angola from December 5-7.

Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and Angolan Minister of External Relations Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti have agreed to continue seeking specific measures to strengthen ties in prioritised areas and expand affiliation in other promising fields like agriculture, health care, oil and gas, and telecommunications.

There is plenty of room for Vietnam and Angola to expand cooperation, especially in the fields of agriculture, education, healthcare, and telecommunication, according to President Tran Dai Quang.

Vietnam aims to become a major and reliable partner to Angola in IT and telecommunications, said Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan on March 13.

A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) led by Nguyen Van Binh, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, visited Angola from December 16-17.

Angola looks forward to furthering cooperation and experience exchange with Vietnam, President Josse Euardo dos Santos said when receiving new Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Manh Cuong on February 25.

The Angolan Embassy in Vietnam on November 11 held a ceremony to mark the 40 th anniversaries of National Day of Angola (November 11, 1975) and diplomatic ties between the two countries (November 12).
