Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the dailyreference exchange rate for the US dollar at 23,167 VND/USD on March 17, down 21VND from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, theceiling rate applicable to commercial banks during the day is 23,862 VND/USD VND/USDand the floor rate 22,472 VND/USD.

The opening-hour rates at commercial banks sawdecreases.

At 8:30 am, Vietcombank listed the buying rate at22,710 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,020 VND/USD, both down 10 VND fromMarch 16.

BIDV also cut 10 VND from both rates, listing thebuying rate at 22,740 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,020 VND/USD(selling)./.
