Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam setthe daily reference exchange rate at 23,212 VND per USD on October 5, down 2 VND from the last working day of previous week (October 2).

With the currenttrading band of  +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banksduring the day is 23,908 VND/USD and the floor rate, 22,516 VND/USD.

The opening hour ratesat most commercial banks stayed stable.

At 8:25 am, Vietcombank listed thebuying rate at 23,070 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,280 VND/USD, bothunchanged from October 2.

BIDV also kept bothrates unchanged at 23,100 VND/USD (buying) and 23,280 VND/USD (selling).

Similarly, the rates listed by Techcombank stayed unchanged at 23,085VND/USD (buying) and 23,285 VND/USD (selling).

During the week from September 28 to October 2, the daily referenceexchange rate was adjusted up on Monday then down on the following days beforegoing up again on the last day of the week. It ended the week down 12 VND fromMonday.

The rates listed by commercial banks stayed stable throughout the week./.
