Hue (VNA) – After a month of thorough preparation, the Heritage Path tourist railway carriage began its first journey, carrying 24 tourists on board on August 8.
The tour is the result of the cooperation between Hue Tourist Company and the branch of Vietnam Railways in Hue.
Besides providing transportation, the tourist railway carriage is also an example of cooperation between railways and tourism to meet the demand for rail travel by both domestic and international tourists, offering a new experience in heritage exploration.
An SE1 train will conduct the daily journey from Hue to Da Nang, providing a view of the beautiful Hai Van mountain pass or Lang Co Bay along a beautiful route in central Vietnam. For 155,000 VND (7 USD) per ticket, tourists can have a relaxed journey with their fellow-travellers.
The 26-berth carriage has been designed following the best contemporary standards of Vietnam Railways.
According to Nguyen Thanh Khanh, Director of Vietnam Railways’ branch in Hue, the carriage would be constantly upgraded to provide the best possible facilities to tourists.
The Heritage Path tourist railway carriage will also allow domestic travel agencies to transport tourists more safely with high-quality services to explore world heritage sites in central Vietnam.
