Quang Tri (VNA) –🦩 The central province of Quang Tri has successfully fulfilled all its targets for eliminating temporary and dilapidated housing, completing the effort two months ahead of schedule, according to Nguyen Long Hai, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee.

For households of people with meritorious service and relatives of fallen soldiers, the province supported the construction and renovation of 2,374 houses, achieving 100% of the set target, 342 newly built and 2,032 renovated. For poor and near-poor households living in temporary or severely degraded homes, the province exceeded its goal by 41.5%, providing support for the construction or repair of 7,486 houses. An additional 1,023 houses were repaired, meeting the full-year target, with 764 completed and 259 nearing completion.
The province implemented flexible support policies tailored to specific beneficiary groups and regional characteristics. Households of people with meritorious service received at least 100 million VND (3,817 USD) for new construction and 30 million VND for repairs. Poor and near-poor households were granted 60 million VND per new house in lowland areas and 70 million VND in mountainous regions; support for repairs was 30 million VND per home.
The total programme funding amounted to 607.4 billion VND, including 95.1 billion VND for households with meritorious service and 512.3 billion VND for poor and near-poor households. Funding was mobilised from a combination of central and local government budgets as well as social contributions. Notably, nearly 450 billion VND, 87% of the total funding, was raised through socialised sources, with strong contributions from central ministries, enterprises, banks, and the public./.
