Quang Tri border force seizes 7,400 meth pills trafficked from Laos

Quang Tri (VNA) – The border guard high command inthe central province of Quang Tri has captured a man transporting 7,400 methamphetaminepills from Laos into Vietnam.

Its crime and drug prevention team spotted suspiciousactivities of two people driving a scooter travelling from Laos to Vietnam. Oneof the two was arrested in Huong Hoa district’s Lao Bao town, while the otherescaped through the other side of the border.

Tran Cong Chinh, born in 1978 in the central province ofQuang Binh, was caught red handed carrying a backpack, which contained 7,400 methamphetaminepills. The pills were packed inside 37 blue-coloured packages.

Chinh said he was hired by a Lao national to bring the druginto Vietnam for sale.

The case is under investigation.-VNA
