Quang Ninh (VNA) – Chinese touristsentering Vietnam via Mong Cai international border gate in the northernprovince of Quang Ninh at weekends are estimated to number 10,000 per day,doubling the normal days.

The figure was provided by Head of the Mong Cai Department for Culture andInformation Pham Thi Oanh who also added that the tourists went through thegate smoothly.

She rejected inaccurate information about the jammed border gate thatcirculated on several media networks.

In recent years, the city has arranged a separate area for Chinese visitors, sothe customs procedures have been processed quite easily.

At peak time, more border guards are placed topromptly address customs procedures, she added.

The image of congestion on some media networksis in China’s Dongxing city, she said, noting that the Mong Cai internationalborder gate is still clear.

Quang Ninh province has recently launched anumber of campaigns to create a healthy business environment for travelagencies.

Violators will be strictly punished.

In 2016, the province welcomed about 1.6 millionChinese tourists via Mong Cai border gate.-VNA
