Prague (VNA) – The Quang Ninh province FellowCountrymen Association in the Czech Republic has made its debut at a ceremonyheld recently in Prague.
Addressing the November 24 ceremony, President of the temporaryexecutive board of the association Nguyen Duy Nhat said the association aims tocreate conditions for people from the northern province of Quang Ninh who areliving and working in the Czech Republic to support each other and contributeto their homeland.
Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ho Minh Tuanexpressed his hope that the association will promptly complete procedures toorganise its congress, becoming a member of the Vietnamese Association in thecountry.
Highlighting the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the CzechRepublic as well as cooperation between Quang Ninh and Karlovy Vary province of the Czech Republic, the diplomat calledon Quang Ninh people in the country to contribute to promoting the relations. -VNA
The Vietnam-Czech Friendship Association and the Vietnam-Slovakia Friendship Association jointly organised a get-together in Hanoi on October 20 to celebrate the 100th founding anniversary of Czechoslovakia (1918-2018).
A gathering was held in Ho Chi Minh City on October 28 to mark the 100th founding anniversary of Czechoslovakia, part of which is the Czech Republic at present.
Vietnam earned 88.05 million USD from exports to the Czech Republic in September, raising the figure for the first nine months of this year to 775.94 million USD, up 10.8 percent year-on-year, according to the Czech Statistical Office.
According to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRC), this year’s campaign provided long-term aid for 3,785 individuals and organisations. Support included houses, clean water systems, school meal facilities, books, and livelihood assistance, with a total value of more than 118 billion VND.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.
