The central province of Quang Ngai is in need of assistance withindustrial and urban development, improving the quality of humanresources and sustainably managing poverty reduction in six mountainousdistricts, said Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People’s CommitteeCao Khoa. Japanese donors are assessing the province’s needs with aview to investment.

Khoa made the statement at aworking session with a Japanese parliamentarian’s delegation, led byKanda Norio, advisor to the Japan ’s Ministries of Finance andPrivatisation of Postal Services, in Quang Ngai province on July 30.

He said he hopes Japanese investors would explore and invest inagriculture, industry, healthcare, education and the development of theDung Quat Oil Refinery and Ly Son island district.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Party Committee Vo Van Thuongexpressed his gratitude and hoped that the delegation would consider theassistance to Quang Ngai’s projects and promote friendly cooperationbetween Quang Ngai province and the Fukuoka prefecture.

For his part, Norio spoke highly of Quang Ngai’s tourism and technical resource potential.

He said he will assist with the construction of the Long Mon primary school in Minh Long district as soon as possible.

During their working visit to Quang Ngai province from July 27-31, thedelegation conducted a fact-finding tour of Minh Long mountainousdistrict and Ly Son island district./.
