Hoi An, recognised by UNESCO as a heritage site in 1999, is an oldtrading port that dates back to the 15th century. Its architecture andlayout reflect the indigenous and foreign influences that meltedtogether to produce the unique character of the town.
My Son Sanctuary is a cluster of abandoned and partially ruined Chamtemples. Constructed between the 4th and the 13th century AD, it used tobe the religious and political capital of the Champa Kingdom.
Meanwhile, the Cham Islands (Cu Lao Cham) constitute a group of eightislets, which form part of the Cu Lao Cham Marine Park, a WorldBiosphere Reserve also recognised by UNESCO.
