Quang Binh to popularise tourism in Hanoi

A cultural and tourism promotion programme “Quang Binh in the land of Hanoi” will be launched in Hanoi’s downtown on March 25.

Hanoi (VNA) – A culturaland tourism promotion programme “Quang Binh in the land of Hanoi” will be launchedin Hanoi’s downtown on March 25, as part of effort to advertise thecentral  province’s culture and tourismpotentials to Hanoians and foreign visitors, heard a press conference in thecapital city on March 16.

The programme aims to lure domesticand foreign visitors to Quang Binh in order to develop its tourism into aspearhead economy, provide a platform for travel operators of Hanoi and QuangBinh to form networking and attract more Hanoi investment into Quang Binhtourism.

At the press conference, ViceSecretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’sCommittee Nguyen Huu Hoai introduced the potential, strength and new productsof Quang Binh tourism sector, investment attraction and tourism demandstimulation policies, and plans to open flight services connecting Quang Binhwith Thailand’s city of Chiang Mai, and Dong Hoi city with Cat Bi in thenorthern port city of Hai Phong.

Minister of Information andCommunications Truong Minh Tuan asked the province to popularise its tradition,history, and culture, and sacred land with talented and heroic people whilebringing more images of Quang Binh as well as Vietnam abroad.

A music show “Quang Binh in songs” willtake place at the Hanoi Opera House from 8-10:30pm on March 26-27.

From March 25-27, a series of eventsare also planned, including a tourism promotion and connectivity seminar, aphoto exhibition “Quang Binh – most attractive destination in Asia”, a culturalspace of Le Thuy folk song heave-ho, a marketing programme “Quang Binh –Kingdom of world caves” combined with music activities, among others.

A highlight of the programme will bea space to attract visitors to Son Doong – the world’s largest cave, affordingthem a chance to experience Son Doong in the midst of Hanoi.

The central province of Quang Binh boaststhe most special tourism resources in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, notably PhongNha – Ke Bang National Park twice recognised by UNESCO as a World NaturalHeritage thanks to its geological, geo-morphological, biodiversity andaesthetic values. It is also the first heritage in the region to meet three outof the four criteria for the status.

The locality is also endowed with thelongest coastline with a number of pristine, crystal-clear and sandy beaches,and a variety of specialties.

As the native land of the lateGeneral Vo Nguyen Giap and labour heroine Mother Suot, Quang Binh also holdsspecial tangible and intangible cultural heritages such as ceremonial songs andLe Thuy folk song heave-ho.-VNA
