Quang Binh (VNA) – Police in the centralprovince of Quang Binh said on September 8 that they have arrested two suspectsfor trafficking 6,000 methamphetamine pills.
Earlier, on September 5, the local drug investigation andtraffic police stopped a car on the National Highway 1A section that crosses LeThuy district due to suspicious signs. A search was carried out thatsubsequently discovered the pills hidden inside a black plastic bag.
The car was driven by a man born in 1991 and residing in BacLy ward, Quang Binh’s Dong Hoi city.
The arrested admitted he was hired by another man totransport the drug from the neighbouring province of Quang Tri’s Dong Ha cityto Dong Hoi in Quang Binh.
The second man, born in 1991 and residing in Dong Hoi’s DucNinh commune, was arrested later.
The case, which involves a big drug trafficking ring thathas long been followed by local police, is under further investigation.-VNA
Nine kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine and 2,000 meth pills were seized after three drug traffickers were arrested in Huong Son district of the central province of Ha Tinh on February 15 evening.
Police in Song Ma district of the northern border province of Son La arrested three drug traffickers and seized more than 7,000 drug pills on April 12.
Police busted many drug trafficking rings in the first quarter of 2019, seizing over 6 tonnes of drugs – higher than the amount seized last year and tripling that in 2017.
A Lao national carrying more than 24,000 synthetic drug pills was recently arrested at the Cha Lo international border gate in the central province of Quang Binh, according to the provincial Border Guard High Command.
