Listening to Quan ho folk songs, watching water puppetry, and playing traditional games - the Luy Lau Folk Culture Conservation Area offers a rich cultural space full of engaging activities for both visitors and children.

The event featured intertwined performances by both Vietnamese and Russian students. They were arranged like the “hat doi” styles found in many regions of Vietnam, with Quan Ho folk songs juxtaposing with songs about Cossack culture, and Bac Bling (Bac Ninh) dances paired with traditional Russian dances.

The “Suite Kieu” (To khuc Kieu) by Vietnamese music professor and guitarist Dang Ngoc Long was one of the six works played by Zafraan Ensemble - a German group based in Berlin that is well-known for its classical concerts with a distinct crossover flair at the House of World Cultures in Berlin.

The Hanoi Old Quarter Management Board recently came together with the Vietnamese Dinh Lang Club to host a special arts programme featuring visually-impaired singers.

A ceremony was held in the northern province of Bac Giang on September 7 to celebrate 10 years since “Dan ca quan ho” (quan ho folk songs) and “ca tru” singing were recognised as part of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
