Public security forces play crucial roles in various fields: PM

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on December 19 lauded therole of the public security forces in a wide range of areas, from socio-economicdevelopment to administrative reform, the fight against corruption andwastefulness, national defence and security, and foreign affairs.
Speakingat a regular conference of the Central Public Security Party Committee in Hanoion December 19, the leader said in 2019, the sector has created breakthroughswhile providing strategic consultations for the Party and the State in basicand major issues.
Thepublic security forces have outstandingly served as the core in safeguardingnational security and social order and safety, and ensuring peace and happinessfor people.
Theyhave worked hard to fight sabotage plots and activities of hostile andreactionary forces, and prevent the formation and debut of opposition politicalorganisations at home.
Thecombat against crimes has fulfilled and even surpassed targets set by theNational Assembly, PM Phuc said, applauding the sector’s efforts in controllingtraffic accidents and firefighting.
Hesaid the public security forces have taken the initiative in building plans toabsolutely ensure security and safety of all-level Party congresses scheduledfor 2020, towards the 13th National Party Congress, and important events of thecountry.
ThePM asked the Ministry of Public Security to continue realising the PartyCentral Committee’s resolutions on Party building.
Regardingthe personnel issue, the leader emphasised that it is a must to thoroughlyselect representatives of the public security sector for all-level Partycommittees during the 2020-2026 tenure. /.
President Tran Dai Quang has asked public security forces to uphold combined strength, take advantage of people’s support to consolidate solidarity and expand international cooperation.
The Ministry of Public Security held a conference in Hanoi on July 3 to review its first-half activities and set major tasks for the remaining months of this year and the next years.
