The administration of Jakarta, Indonesia, plans to arrange for students from low-income families to attend up to 1,000 private schools for free in the next academic year, aiming to prevent them from dropping out because of financial problems amid the limited number of public schools.
The Government recognises the importance of private schools to development of the national education system, Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for Culture, Education, Youth and Children Phan Thanh Binh has said.
