Prime Minister values US Congress’s support to relations with Vietnam

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc metwith a delegation of US parliamentarians led by Ted Yoho, Chairman of the Asiaand the Pacific Subcommittee at the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs, inHanoi on October 16.
The host leader said the Government and peopleof Vietnam appreciate the support that the US Congress, including many membersof the House of Representatives, has given to the US’s policy towards theAsian-Pacific region and the country’s development of the comprehensivepartnership with Vietnam in all fields, especially in promoting theimplementation of US businesses’ investment projects in Vietnam.
He affirmed that Vietnam always attachesimportance to relations with the US and wants to continue reinforcing thecomprehensive partnership in a result-oriented manner on the basis ofrespecting each other’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity andpolitical regime, for the sake of the countries’ people as well as for peace,stability, cooperation and development in Asia-Pacific and the world.
PM Phuc lauded the increasingly positive andsubstantive development of Vietnam-US relations in bilateral, regional andglobal aspects.
He also valued growing ties between the twocountries’ parliaments, particularly the meetings and exchanges of viewsbetween their lawmakers.
Vietnam welcomes more US parliamentarians tocome to learn about its history, culture, country and people as well as to seekmeasures to foster bilateral linkages.
For his part, Ted Yoho said he is happy to meetPM Phuc again after his phone talks with the Vietnamese leader last May.
He said as Chairman of the Asia and the PacificSubcommittee at the US House Committee on Foreign Affairs, he will work harderto enhance cultural and trade cooperation and legislative experience sharing,thus helping the flourishing comprehensive partnership to continue obtainingnew achievements in all spheres.-VNA
