Vientiane (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinhreceived Chairman of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association BoviengkhamVongdara in Vientiane on January 11, part of his official visit to Laos.
Stressing the traditional friendship between Vietnam andLaos, PM Chinh highly valued the cooperation results between the Vietnam - Laosand Laos - Vietnam friendship associations, especially in the Solidarity andFriendship Year 2022, which have helped promote people-to-people exchanges andthe two peoples’ awareness of the special bilateral relations.
He also applauded activities of the Laos - Vietnam FriendshipAssociation last year, asking it to set up branches in localities and developnew and creative forms of exchanges to further augment the great friendship andspecial solidarity between the two sides.
Boviengkham Vongdara said the two friendship organisationsheld a large number of activities in the Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022. AsMinister of Technology and Communications of Laos, he has also carried out manycooperation activities with Vietnamese partners, including building Vietnameselanguage teaching centres.
The Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association has always paidattention to communications so that the Lao people, particularly the young, arefully aware of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensivecooperation between the two Parties, States, and peoples, he noted, pledging todo his utmost to help nurture relations between the countries./.

The country is willing to participate in collective efforts to promote cooperation and mobilise resources to advance the current priority issues of developing countries, such as trade, investment, infrastructure connectivity, making the most of scientific and technological advances for development, and people-to-people exchanges, Hang said.
During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
The Chairman stressed the need for stricter fiscal discipline, faster digital transformation, and more efficient management of State budget revenues and expenditures.
