Prime Minister makes working trip to Dien Bien province
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is making a working trip to the northern mountainous province of Dien Bien, during which he inspected the progress of a project to expand the Dien Bien airport, a new urban area, and the supply of medicine and medical supplies at the provincial general hospital on April 8.

Dien Bien, (VNA) – Prime Minister PhamMinh Chinh is making a working trip to the northern mountainous province ofDien Bien, during which he inspected the progress of a project to expand theDien Bien airport, a new urban area, and the supply of medicine and medicalsupplies at the provincial general hospital on April 8.
At the site of the project to expand the Dien Bien airport, thegovernment leader stressed the importance of the project to the province’sdevelopment. He required contractors to keep to schedule and make efforts tocomplete the project one month ahead of schedule.
When completed, the expanded airport will be able to accommodate modernaircraft such as A320, A321, and serve from 500,000 to 1 million passengers ayear. Work under the project started in January last year and is planned tocomplete in December 2023.
During the trip, PM Chinh presentedscholarships to 300 children in difficult circumstances in Dien Bien andwitnessed the hand-over of 200 bicycles to poor children.
He took the occasion to stress that the care, education and protection ofchildren is a top priority of the Party, the State and society as a whole, toensure social welfare and sustainable national development./.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved a project to expand Dien Bien Airport in the northwestern province of Dien Bien with the aim of increasing its capacity to 500,000 passengers per year.
A project on expanding and upgrading Dien Bien airport in the northwestern province of Dien Bien is scheduled to begin in December and be completed in October 2023, according to a direction issued by Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan.
A culinary contest themed “Huong sac Dien Bien" kicked off in the northwest province of Dien Bien on March 12 as part of the Hoa Ban (Ban Flower) Festival 2023 and the 7th Culture, Sports and Tourism Festival in the locality.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
