Prime Minister holds online talks with Turkish Vice President

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Pham MinhChinh suggested Vietnam and Turkey exchange experience and closely coordinatein the COVID-19 fight and economic reopening during his online talks withTurkish Vice President Fuat Oktay on October 12.

During the talks, Oktay said Turkey wishes to furtherenhance its multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam.

He also announced Turkey’s decision to help Vietnam with200,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, oxygen concentrators and many other medicalsupplies to serve the pandemic combat. PM Chinh thanked Turkey for thedecision.

Both affirmed to attach importance to Vietnam-Turkey friendship, and agreed to promote the multi-faceted collaboration.

They shared the view that the two countries boast potential for further cooperation in the time ahead, and stressed the need to rollout such measures as starting negotiations of the bilateral free tradeagreement and forging cooperation in air transport and other spheres.

Turkey said it is ready to share its experience in thedevelopment of home-grown Turkovac vaccine and provide mutual recognition of the 'vaccine passport'.

The leaders said Vietnam and Turkey need to continuewith consultations and close coordination at international forums andorganisations, especially the United Nations.

For the East Sea issue, they emphasised the significanceof ensuring the freedom of navigation, aviation, security and peace in theregion, and the peaceful settlement of disputes in line with international law,especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (1982 UNCLOS).

The two leaders exchanged invitations to visit respectivecountries when conditions permit./.
