Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received Hanoi on April 20 NakamuraNorimichi, Governor of Nagasaki prefecture, who is visiting Vietnam with abusiness delegation.

The PM welcomed the Vietnam visit by the Governor and his entourage to seek andexpand opportunities for cooperation and investment with Vietnamese businessesand localities.

He suggested Nagasaki enhance cooperation with Vietnamese localities, especiallyin the areas of Japan's strength like automobile manufacturing and shipbuilding.

Forhis part, Governor Nakamura said that since 2015, the Japanese prefecture hassent nearly 100 business delegations to Vietnam. On the other hand, a largenumber of them travelled for cultural festivals, especially in Hoi An with aview to seeking cooperative opportunities.

Lastyear, the Japanese prefecture invited 300 Vietnamese students from HCM City tojoin home-stay programme.

Nagasakihas already formed close relations with Quang Nam and intended to invite thelocal authorities to the Japanese prefecture in 2017.

TheGovernor took the occasion to thank the Vietnamese side for its selection ofNagasaki as a training centre for Vietnamese athletes in preparation for theOlympic Games 2020.

Also on April 20, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc gave a reception for Managing Director ofthe RoK’s Hyundai Motor in charge of commercial vehicles S.K. Han, during whichthe PM highly valued Hyundai’s cooperation with Vietnam’s Truong Hai AutomobileCorporation (Thaco) to produce trucks and buses in Quang Nam as well as Hyundai’sgoal to raise the localisation rate in vehicle production in Vietnam.-VNA
