Hanoi (VNA) 𝔍– The press has contributed to enhancing solidarity and creating a consensus on ideology and action in the whole Party, army and people, an official has said.
The press plays a crucial role in implementing the country’s political tasks, newly-appointed head of the Party Central Committee’s Information and Education Commission Vo Van Thuong said at a conference with media agencies in Hanoi on February 16, which is an annual event on the occasion of the Lunar New Year festival.
Thuong said the nation reaped great achievements in 2015, especially the success of the 12 th National Party Congress.
He called for further reform in media agencies, and higher quality in communication work, saying that the agencies need to promote their political and social responsibility and the professional ethics of journalism.
Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam thanked all media workers nationwide, affirming that they made important contributions to the national socio-economic development.
The conference heard that media agencies met set requirements in 2015, especially in covering the country’s important events, reflecting the trust of people from all walks of life in the Party and the national reform process.-VNA
