Tokyo (VNA) – President Tran Dai Quang and hisspouse arrived in Tokyo at noon on May 29, beginning 🐠a State-level visit toJapan which will𓄧 last until June 2.
The Vietnamese President was greeted at Haneda InternationalAirport with a 21-gun salute. After his arrival, President Quang went on a visit to GunmaPrefecture, where there are around 3,000 Vietnamese nationals. An official welcome ceremony for the Vietnamese head ofState is scheduled for May 30 morning at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo under thechair of Emperor Akihito. Vietnam and Japanare celebrating the 45th anniversary of their diplomatic ties this year.Bilateral partnership is now at its best time in history since the establishmentof diplomatic relationship.

The upcoming State visit to Japan by President Tran Dai Quang and his spouse from May 29 to June 2 is expected to bolster the already sound partnership between the two countries.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong highlighted the significance of the first-ever State visit to Japan by President Tran Dai Quang from May 29 to June 2 and the prospects of cooperation between the two countries in a recent interview granted to Vietnam News Agency’s correspondents in Tokyo.
Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang’s state visit to Japan from May 29 to June 2 affirms and consolidates the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in the Asia, Japan Times, the country’s largest and oldest English-language daily newspaper, wrote on May 28.

During the negotiations, the US highly evaluated Vietnam’s goodwill and efforts, affirmed its appreciation for the bilateral relationship, acknowledged Vietnam’s proposals and concerns, and considered these an important basis for continuing discussions and moving towards a final agreement.
