Hanoi (VNA) – President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the Communist Review – the magazine of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), to create a forum on important theoretical issues of the Party.
During a working session with representatives of the magazine on May 27, the State leader stressed that the theoretical work of the Party plays an important role.
After 35 years of Doi Moi (renewal) process, the theory on socialism and the path to socialism of Vietnam, and the theory on the development of the socialist-oriented market economy and on building a rule-of-law and democratic socialist State, have become increasingly clear, he said.
He emphasized that those theoretical issues need to be widely disseminated throughout the Party in order to promptly orient, concretise and transform the theories into revolutionary actions and movements in practice.
With its 91-year history as the political theoretical body of the Party, the Communist Review must shoulder the main responsibility for implementing this important task, the President added.
According to Editor-in-Chief of the Communist Review Doan Minh Huan, the magazine has focused on renewing its press products in the direction of improving the quality of theoretical content on various issues such as the relationship between the State, the market and society; and the reform of policies and laws on land, agriculture and farmers.
The magazine has also promoted external information work by disseminating theoretical research outcomes on the Doi Moicause, and progressive and revolutionary ideology of the CPV through different versions of English, Chinese, Lao, and Spanish on its website, he said./.
The Communist Review newspaper was honoured with the Ho Chi Minh Order for the second time during a ceremony marking its 85th founding anniversary (August 5) in Hanoi on August 4.
The fourth “Bua Liem Vang” (Golden Hammer & Sickle) Press Awards 2019 honoured journalists and their works about the Party building in Hanoi on January 15.
The fifth National Press Awards on Party Building, called “Bua Liem Vang” (Golden Hammer & Sickle), will be presented at a ceremony in Hanoi on January 13.
A meeting was held at the headquarters of the Communist Review in Hanoi on March 30 to collect local voters’ opinions about Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, who is nominated to represent the capital in the 15th National Assembly (NA).

The Party chief underscored the need for the press to innovate relentlessly, evolve to keep pace with the country's development, transform into a truly professional, humanistic, and modern sector that serves the cause of the Party, the State, and the people on the path to national construction and development.
The UN Secretary-General praised Vietnam’s remarkable achievements in socio-economic development and international integration in recent years, noting that the country has emerged as a model in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting international peace and security, and engaging in key UN processes.
Nghia affirmed that this is a milestone of special significance, affirming and honouring the the Vietnamese revolutionary press’s glorious tradition of 100 years of serving the revolutionary cause of the Party, serving the Fatherland, and serving the people.

NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man stressed the need to accelerate the application of artificial intelligence and smart teaching equipment, innovate teaching and assessment methods, and further improve the quality of formal education.
He also pledged that the NA will promote its ongoing supervision, making sure that every promise must lead to results, and every commitment must bring about real changes.
Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien welcomed the proposals put forward by the US side and reiterated Vietnam’s request for consideration of key areas of interest, including reciprocal tariff policies and access for Vietnamese key export products to the US market.
Deputy PM Le Thanh Long proposed countries promote shared values, including building trust, sincerity, and solidarity among nations and peoples; fostering cooperation spirit and responsible behaviour as well as upholding international law and the UN Charter; and placing people at the centre and as the goal, the key player, and the driving force of all policies.
